Studio D Hours & Information
Studio D is available to book for production on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from Noon to 6 p.m. Completion of a Studio Orientation/Certification is required prior to reservations being accepted. Please use this page (above) for your online reservations.
Studio D comes equipped with three cameras, lighting grid, audio amenities including microphones and installed studio speakers, and HD recording capabilities. Producers must supply their own recording media in the form of SD cards.
The studio offers four preset configurations within existing permanent space, which include:
- Talk show set
- Small-group music performance space
- Green screen area
- News set or small interview area
Each of these areas of the studio will have pre-set lighting configurations to reduce set-up and strike efforts. Individual instruments may be adjusted by staff as needed for optimal results, but devices will not be moved from their preset, existing locations. Sets are to be established within the lighting pattern of the pre-configured areas.
Studio D has limited furnishings and set-dressings available onsite. Some chairs, stools, side tables and video monitors are available. Plain black, light grey curtains, or green screen are provided as the general backdrop. Hangings, decorations or small furniture items may be brought in during your reservation, but cannot be stored on-site.
Additional set pieces may be brought directly to the studio and loaded at the time of your reservation. We cannot accept shipments or delivery of any other set pieces. All items brought into studio must be removed the same day at the end of your reservation.
The producer is responsible for all Studio D equipment. Producers are also responsible for the conduct of themselves, crew and guests. Each person must follow established guidelines and code of conduct. For security purposes, producers are required to provide a list of all crew and guests prior to using the studio.
Denver Community Media reserves the right to cancel reservations if urgent emergency operations are in place. In the rare event that a cancellation is necessary, and we will make every possible effort to reschedule the reservation or provide a reasonable alternative.
To help producers get the best use of studio space and equipment, producers will be offered orientation/training classes.
Once a producer completes training in a specific field, they are certified and can begin making facility and equipment reservations.
Reservations for Studio D may be made up to sixty days in advance and used for three consecutive 2-hour periods. Field and editing equipment reservations may be made up to thirty days in advance and used for the allotted time specified on the reservation form for each equipment type.

Studio facilities are currently provided in the heart of Civic Center where parking is limited and at a premium. One parking space will be available to the producer of a Studio Reservation for the purpose of loading/unloading and may be occupied strictly for the length of the studio reservation. The parking space is located off the street about 10 feet south of the southernmost studio door. See a picture of the parking location online here or below. There is no loading dock that serves the Studio, so please make sure anything you need to load in will fit through the golden double doors pictured.
For individual crew members, guests, or participants arriving separately, Civic Center is readily accessible via public transit options and car share/taxi services. There are also numerous pay-per-use garage and surface lot options for private vehicles within easy walking distance.
